Accumulate 25 acceptances (no time limit) submit an application to the BPE for verification and you can use BPE*1 after your name, and the good bit is there is no cost! ie. no annual membership fee. Accumulate 50 points to get BPE*2 etc. etc. All the information is on the BPE web site listed below.

There are 21 exhibitions per year under the umbrella of the BPE (British Photographic Exhibitions).
The list and dates are avaliable on the BPE web site address: http://www.britishphotographicexhibitions.org.uk

PAGB Distinction Awards:
You can apply to have a selection of prints assessed for a CPAGB, DPAGB and MPAGB award. (Credit, Distinction and Masters)
The process is as follows:
Make sure you comply with the prequalification criteria of the MCPF, the federation that Ross-on-wye Photographic Society is affilitated to. This information is accessable in the PAGB web site link, http://www.pagb-photography-uk.co.uk then click on "PAGB Merits Awards". The guidence notes are downloadable as a PDF file. Currently the prequalification criteria are that you have to have been an active member of a PAGB affiliated club, (such as Ross), for a minimum of two years. ('Active' meaning attending meetings, entering competitions etc).
If you meet the Prequalification criteria, apply to the current MCPF distinction officers for an application form, their details are on the MCPF web site. When the form arrives fill it in, get it signed by the club's secretary, (currently Roger Irwin), to confirm that you have been an active member of the club for two years, and return it to the officers, they verify your listing as correct, sign it and return it to you with another form for the PAGB. This needs to be filled in and sent to the PAGB distinction/awards officer, currently Leo Rich, with your cheque for which ever award you are applying for. Do not send any prints yet!
There are 2 assessment dates per year April and November held at different parts of the country in turn. They usually assess about 50 applications at each session, if there is room on the list for the next assessment date you're in, if not it goes on to the next assessment. Your images will be called for when needed. So it gives some time to put together your strongest images. You do not have to attend the assessment day but most people do.
It's not as complicated as it sounds! If any member wishes to apply and needs help contact Sandra Walding.
