We run a number of competitions during the year and entries from any club member are most welcome - it's worth entering images to get feedback from the judge which is a great way to learn how to take even better images. The definitions for the 2025-26 season competitions are as follows:

Any image the author wishes to submit
Forms in Nature
Any image that in the opinion of the author best illustrates the theme
Lines
Any image that in the opinion of the author best illustrates the theme

Any image that in the opinion of the author best illustrates the theme
Image of the year
Any image the author wishes to submit
Definitions will be used by the Competition Secretary to determine the validity of entries and by the competition judge to score any submitted image. Competition Rules For full competition rules for competitions 1-7, click here: Competition Rules Entries for Print competitions must be handed to the Competition Secretary by the due date and must be accompanied by a properly completed Entry Form. To download an Entry Form click here: Entry Form Entries for Dpi competitions are to be made by email on or before the due date in accordance with the procedure set out in the Competition Rules. No entry form is required.

Any queries please contact the Competition Secretary - Allan Ockenden via the 'Contact us' link. Tips: for re-sizing images for club DPI Competitions. In Photoshop go to File - Automate - Fit Image - type in 1920 x 1080 and it will automatically resize for portrait or landscape. You will only need to change the pixels if you have to resize for different projectors. For Elements users, (this works on Elements 13, not sure about 14 or 15) go to File - Automate - fit image - type in the pixels you require 1920 x 1080 and it will hold the sizes until you change it. Again it will automatically size for portrait or landscape.
